@Sagnik: The report clearly begins with the date which says 11th January 2009. This is last year's report. The facts presented are all true. Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.

Hi,

After reading through the report of the Intaglio Quizzical, where I was lucky to be present to witness a nail-biting finish, its really surprising to see some of the best brains(atleast what their CAT scores and their being a part of the one of the most coveted B-schools convey) acting as the spokesperson(donno intentionally or unintentionally!) of a Mr. Ghosh, Mr Singh and Mrs Mohanka. So much so is their influence on the fellow reporter, that they fail to rightly report the winners of the afternoon, a very deserving "Byapok Byatha" comprising Atrida, Tathagatada and Tintinda. Offcourse with my little wit, I am not sure whether the non-podium-finishers can be coronated with the phrase "The Team Excalibur, with Ms. Jayashree Mohanka as a member, walked away with the top honors". Even their team on the day was participating as "Octette", with a more illustrious quizzer Mr. Souvik Guha in their ranks, who surprisingly din't find a mention in the report(probably bcoz he does not carry an air around him like CP).

To the best of my knowledge, on that very day, the positions of the teams after the finale looked like below:
1. Byapok Byatha (Atri, Tathagata & Tintin) - 105
2. Inmaniacs (Gautam Ghose, Anirudh Chari @ Saunak) - 100
3. Seeking Answers(Panda and team) - 85
4. Octette (Souvik Guha, Jayashree Mohanka and team) - 75

Others present in the finals were Sreekanth Reddy, Kaushik Saha and Team, one more from IIMs(Team 2..sorry I forgot ur names but remember the "TALL, DARK & HANDSOME" distinctly :)), Rishin and team(with some "Gonotantrik" name :)) .. and last but not the least, the toppers of the Prelims(with a whopping 24 outta 30) at Team 4.

Would like to end saying that, there r thousands(or may b millions) of people like me in nooks and corners of the country, with dreams of studying in IIMs(agree, we miss the bus as the much-better and deserving ones get the nod). So, its really disappointing to see the IRRESPONSIBILITY of some of the SUPPOSEDLY upcoming Finance GURUs waiting to make their mark in the business horizon.

An earnest request Boss, please don't put stupid/erroneous/off-the-topic entries in the blogs of such an esteemed institution, as I feel that disgraces the image of the Institution to some extent.

No hard feelings, just wish to see some wonderful and proper factual entries here in near future, as expected.

LONG LIVE INTAGLIO ..!

WISH U ALL A VERY HAPPY 2010!

Dear Correspondent,

As one of the participants of the quiz event I couldn't help but notice some glaring errors in the report which I, with all due regard, shall take the liberty to point out.

Firstly, eight (8) teams fought it out in the finals, not six as reported. And the one with Mr. Charanpreet Singh was NOT one of them.

The team comprising Ms. Jayashree Mohanka and Mr. Shouvik Guha did NOT "walk away with the top hono(u)rs".They finished, as far as I remember, fourth. And they were called 'Octet', not 'Excalibur'. The team to finish first was 'Byapok Byatha' and consisted of the veteran quizzers Mr. Atri Bhattacharya, Mr. Abhijit Gupta (Tintin-da) & Mr. Tathagata ...(sorry I forgot his surname!). They hit bull's eye with the last question, winning a direct 10 that placed them above the till-then leading team of Anirudh Chari, Goutam Ghose and Shounak ...(apologies again for the surname).

I doubt whether the correspondent was personally present at the venue during the event. Or maybe I was in a parallel universe...
