The Operations Special Interest Group at IIM Calcutta is proud to release the second edition of “Opsworld”, the Pan IIM Operations Magazine.

The magazine is the joint initiative taken by Operations Clubs of all IIMs. Operations SIG, IIM Calcutta  headed the  team for this edition.

The theme of the magazine is Sustainable Operations Management.  We have included faculty as well as student opinion on Sustainability through two different sections in the magazine. The magazine also contains two corporate articles – one from Flipkart and the other from Ernst & Young.

The magazine was released by Prof. Janat Shah, Director, IIM Udaipur during the International Operations Conference organized by Society of Operations Management at IIM Calcutta on 18th December 2011. It received official recognition from the Society of Operations Management (SOM) during the conference. The magazine would be hosted on SOM website alongside the prestigious operations management journals.

We express our sincere gratitude to Prof. Balram Avittathur, Operations Management Group, IIM Calcutta and Mr. Harshavardan (IIM C 2009 – 11) for their worthwhile guidance in bringing out this magazine.
